Today we were able to walk out on the platform of the house. Very scary, but very cool!! They framed in the basement walls and installed the radiant flooring boards. Next they will be working on the framing of the main floor.
After one crane and one dumptruck were stuck in the mud, the steel posts are up. They are now working on the steal beams. They began with a smaller crane and had to switch to an 80foot crane to be able to clear the trees and lift up the posts on the end. The boys were certainly intrigued.
The concrete floor was poured last week and now we are waiting for the steel posts. It snowed close to 6" and now we're having an ice storm, so it may be awhile before work resumes. The boys are enjoying the snow and Jack really likes his hideout in the concrete stairwell.
We've finally broken ground!! Hooray! The boys are "diggin" all the dirt. I am most certain Jack would just be happy to keep the dirt piles around for awhile. Who needs a house?
